Employment Support, Career Development and Transition
We work with individual community members to find out where they have come from, what challenges they are facing today, and where they would like to go with careers and life as a whole.
Our Career Corner is a warm, welcoming space where people can work on job search, resume writing, cover letters, and interview preparation, career guidance and exploration. Chat about how life is going, get some work done, or chat in the Eagle’s Nest room with an elder.
Our Youth, Career & Education guide focuses on supporting Youth ages 15-30 in entering the job market with career exploration, action plans, resumes/cover letter, interview supports, and access to certification and skills development. We also connect to local youth employment and training programs.
We provide career transition support for mid-career adult professionals facing the challenges of needing to up skill and ladder into new roles. These supports including career matchmaking and job placement with local employers, as well as access to other CEER services available. This work is funded through our ELST (Employment, Life Skills & Training) program.

Funding For Post-secondary Education
We continue to be inspired by Indigenous students who are creating new paths for themselves, their families, and their home communities. CEER can support eligible First Nations, (status and non-status)Métis and Inuit students who have been denied funding or are ineligible for funding through their band or nation.
CEER can support with education funding for tuition & books (Certificate, Diploma, Undergrad, Trades), navigation for bursaries, scholarships and other funding sources. Additional supports include connections to other VNFC programs, and guidance when challenges arise. We welcome students in the following time periods:
- Fall Semester Students (Sept-Dec) – contact us in July
- Winter Semester Student (Jan-Apr) – contact us in November
- Spring/Summer Semester (May-Aug) – contact us in March
