Working as part of the VNFC Management Team and reporting directly to the Director of Family Development and Food Security, the Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Manager provides strategic and operational leadership to the Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Teams and overall supports for Indigenous families. This position provides supervision, leadership and support to staff within the Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Teams and will ensure that the work of the teams is well integrated and managed to the benefit of the clients/community served. This position requires a Bachelor Degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field and/or equivalent experience and education.
Working as a part of the Parent Support Team (Early Childhood Development) and reporting directly to the Director of Family Development and Food Security, the Family Support worker provides direct services to Indigenous families with support to help strengthen families and early years parenting. This position supports parent-child interaction through play and safe space. The position will support an inclusive environment where all families are respected and valued for their diversity and children are celebrated. This position requires a Family Support Certificate or Bachelors Degree in Social Work and/or Child and Youth Care.
Working from an Indigenous world view and under the supervision of the Manager of Family Wellness Supports, the Family Violence Prevention Co-Coordinator is a co- facilitator for the Women Warrior’s Program. This position is responsible for co-facilitating the Women’s Warrior’s Program from a trauma informed, culturally grounded place, towards providing an opportunity for Indigenous Women to gain a deeper understanding of family violence and its impact on self, family and community and work towards ending the cycle of family violence.
Working as part of the VNFC Housing Team and reporting directly to the Manager of Housing Supports, the Housing Support Worker is responsible for providing individual and family support and assistance related to housing for persons who are identified as unsheltered and/or at high risk of becoming unsheltered. Programming by housing support workers consists of outreach supports connecting with unsheltered community members, collaborating with other agencies and organizations supporting the unsheltered community with advocacy, supports and resources to remove barriers for appropriate and successful housing.
Working as part of the Indigenous Culture & Language (ICL) Team and reporting directly to the Manager of Indigenous Culture and Language, the ICL Language Hub Coordinator operates from an Indigenous world view, and supports and engages the Indigenous Fluent Speakers, Elders, Language Helpers, and language cohorts. This position also provides responsive culturally-based language programming for community.
The Indigenous Speech & Language Pathologist works collaboratively to support children and families from a family-centred and strengths-based approach. This position provides intervention and follow-up for Indigenous preschool clients with communication and related disorders, at various communities and sites within greater Victoria, and in accordance with Speech-Language Pathology Standards.

Working as part of the interdisciplinary VNFC Wellness Team and reporting directly to the Indigenous Lead (PCN), the Indigenous Wellness Provider (IWP) supports VNFC and Primary Care Network (PCN) clients to coordinate and access Indigenous practitioners, primary health care, social services, and specialized medical care. IWP’s provide support to Indigenous peoples in the Victoria and Western PCNs including Métis, Inuit, status and non-status First Nations. The IWP will work with people experiencing a range of barriers to health care. This position requires a degree or diploma in Social Work, Human services or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
As a member of the VNFC Housing Team, reporting directly to the Housing Operations Manager, the Property Administrator operates from a strong Indigenous cultural foundation and promotes a family-centered approach. This role provides a range of confidential administrative services to support the Property Management office, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional customer service for tenants. The Property Administrator plays a key role in supporting applicants and tenants of VNFC-owned properties while aligning with the organization’s vision and values. Additionally, the position assists in managing and overseeing VNFC property assets and contributes to the daily operations of the Property Management team.
Working as part of Family Development and Food Security Team, and reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the VNFC Programs Cook provides nutritional services to VNFC programs and the community through helping to prepare and cook healthy foods.
The Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) Registered Nurse (RN) provides culturally safe, full-scope primary health care to the urban Indigenous community living in Southern Vancouver Island. The RN, reporting the VNFC Director of Wellness, works with an interdisciplinary care team at the Camas Lelum Primary Care Centre to provide longitudinal primary health care to Indigenous community of all ages. The RN works independently and as part of the team to provide care that honours the culture of all community members, and actively supports connection to both Western and Indigenous knowledge and practice. This position requires registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
Working as part of Family Development and Food Security Team and reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Shelter Cook provides nutritional services to the VNFC Shelter and programs as required. This position will work evenings and weekends to support the kitchen operations of the VNFC Shelter, which provides temporary shelter for unhoused community.

Working as part of the VNFC Shelter team, the Casual Shelter Staff covers leaves, vacant positions, and other shifts as available at the VNFC Shelter, which provides temporary shelter for unhoused community.
Under the supervision of the Youth Program Lead, the Youth Drop-In Coordinator provides support to young people who attend the VNFC Rave Youth Drop-In program. The Youth Coordinator works to provide a safe and consistent environment for Indigenous youth to engage and participate in various programs and opportunities. Qualifications include a Bachelor degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Counseling and/or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Under the supervision of the Family Wellness Supports Manager, the Young Warriors Facilitator (YWF) will plan and co-facilitate groups for children aged 7-12, supporting children and youth to become the champions of their own journey.
Working as a part of the Youth and Community Leadership (YCL) Team and reporting to the YCL Manager, the Youth Support Worker supports Indigenous young people ages 12-24 through offering emotional support, assisting youth in connecting to community services, and empowering them in decision-making. The Youth Support worker helps young people from a strengths-based and trauma informed approach as well as through overall support, referral, skill development, education, mentorship, and cultural continuity.
